MER is certified by the Maine DEP to conduct sediment sulfide and redox potential measurement in accordance with the Maine Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (MePDES) General Permit for Atlantic Salmon Aquaculture (MEG130000).  MER also conducts sampling for total organic carbon (TOC), metals (copper and zinc) analyses, and antibiotics with testing being subcontracted to other laboratories, including the University of Maine Sawyer Environmental Chemistry Research Laboratory (SECRL) in Orono and the Ira C. Darling Marine Center in Walpole.
